Om Chakra Meditation

Image
First, we need to realize that we are fine tuning the physical, astral, and causal bodies when we meditate. We understand quite easily the healing of the body; however, we have a somewhat lesser understanding of the other two bodies involved. We begin to work with the energy centers in the physical and astral bodies when we perform our yoga postures and meditations. We should realize that we are sending energy to body parts and chakras (energy centers). The object of the yogi is to awaken the cerebrolspinal centers in the cerebrolspinal axis (spine). Let me show you the location of the chakras . The seventh center, called the "thousand petal lotus," in the brain is the seat of Infinite Consciousness and is located at the top of the head. The sixth center is called the Third Eye, the polar opposite of the Medulla Oblangata. The physical eyes of the yogi should be focused at the third eye during meditation. (The point between the eyebrows). The fifth chakra is by the thro

Chakra Clearing Meditation

Chakra mediation is a very simple form of meditation that anyone can perform. It involves the simple process of focusing on each chakra point on your body through a process of visualization. By doing this, we are trying to obtain balance and focus on the problems that each of the seven chakras we have might tell us, especially if they are blocked and we feel pain or stress associated with that area. But what is a chakra? It is an aura or point of energy of the body that is represented by the each color of the rainbow. They follow in a linear fashion down the body from the crown to the feet. Along with their location, they are also said to be symbolic of other health or mental issues that are related or affect our bodies. For example, the throat chakra is associated with the color of light blue and represents expression. If this chakra is block or one is suffering from colds or other ailments that affect the throat, it means that we are unable to express ourselves correctly or the w

Meditation: Top Ten Benefits and Why Even Swans Need to Do It!

Image
Last spring as I was walking around the lake near my home, I came upon a family of swans by the shore: two beautiful, huge adults and 10 little baby swans. Ten! The two parents were putting up a very loud squawk and, as I got closer, I saw that one of the babies had become stranded on the shore side of a big log and the parents were encouraging it to climb over. The baby kept trying to climb over but the log was too big and the baby too small. So the parents took turns stepping up on the log, turning around and squatting in the hopes the baby would grab on to them and be pulled out. After about a dozen attempts, they succeeded. The irony was that if any of them had looked to the baby's left, they would have seen it could easily have swum around the log to freedom! But they were all too focused on the problem right in front of them to look for other solutions . It struck me that this was a perfect example of the benefits of meditation. Stop, take a break, relax, regroup an

How to Stay Awake in Meditation

Image
Meditation is a technique that enables us to relax and experience the inner peace, which is deep within. However the relaxation and peace of meditation are very different to the relaxation we get from sleeping and having a nap. Meditation embodies a dynamic peace. When we enter into real meditation we feel very aware, alert and wake. This is not a restless dynamism but a feeling of being in harmony with the cosmic energy that effortlessly flows through us. However beginners to meditation sometimes experience difficulties in staying awake during meditation. There are various things that we can do to make sure we are fully awake during our meditation . 1. Don't meditate after Eating. If we meditate after eating a heavy meal then the body will expend energy on digesting the food. This makes us lethargic; instinctively the body wants to sleep. It is advisable to leave a gap of at least 2 hours following a heavy meal. At the same time we want to make sure we are not pinched with hun
